The hallowed turf at Twickenham has changed a lot since
its humble beginnings. Since the early 1900s the turf has transformed from
an actual cabbage patch to ‘The Cabbage Patch’, home of the English national
team and the home of Rugby. It has been the site of some truly spectacular
matches including, but definitely not limited to, Australia’s controversial
narrow win over England in the 1999 World Cup, and an amazing run of 19
unbeaten home games for England beginning in late 1999 lasting a period
of five years culminating in an Irish victory in 2004.

This amazing, rare, historic print, published in the UK
by the London Transport Museum, features a reprint of a vintage 1921 poster
promoting travel to the Patch by Underground and Tram on the London transit
system. With amazing action artwork from a glorious era in the history
of the game, it evokes thoughts of piling into the grandstand on a chilly
Saturday afternoon and enduring friendly banter between opposing fans,
